This is to inform the Sherwood family of the unfortunate and untimely demise of Colonel Rajinder Chauhan, SM, 1972 batch. Chewey as he was known died a hero's death in the Kashmir Valley while commanding 21 Rashtriya Rifles. He was a Commanding Officer par excellence and I had the privilege of being his senior both at school and in the Valley. May his soul rest in peace. I would request all Sherwoodians to pay homage to this patriot and martyr who died for the national cause and for the safety and welfare of all those who live in the comfort of their homes with their loved ones. As one of the last Sherwoodians who met him I can only say that we need to to be proud of him. I will post an obituary for the SHERWOODIAN, being one of the few who knew him in school and saw him as a dare devil soldier who always led from the front.
